associate professor of biological sciences, has received an $18,400 International Visiting Fellowship from the University of Western Sydney to do research in Australia. Lewis will be working with David Tissue, Ph.D., director in the Centre for Plant and Food Science at the Richmond, New South Wales, campus.

associate professor of communications and media management and director of the Donald McGannon Communication Research Center, published an article titled “Public Perceptions of how Media and NGOs Contribute to Civil Society in Croatia’s Accession to the EU” in the International Journal of Communication. In November, Napoli presented two papers on media ownership regulation and Internet governance at the annual meeting of the National Communication Association.

Ellen Silber, Ph.D., GSS,
professor of French language and literature, has received the Purpose Prize Fellowship for Innovation from Civic Ventures, a national think tank on baby boomers. Silber was named a fellow for Mentoring Latinas, a program in which college Latinas mentor middle school Latinas to inspire them to graduate from high school and go on to college.
