WHO HE IS
Alumni Relations Officer for Technology and Communications

TIME AT FORDHAM
He was a student worker in Alumni Relations from October 2003 until May 2007, and then became a full-time employee in August 2007.

WHAT HE DOES
Michael updates aspects of the Fordham website, manages FordhamCircle—the University’s online networking site for alumni—and manages the Alumni Office’s mass e-mail communications.

BACKGROUND
A Fordham alumnus, he earned a bachelor of arts in visual arts and a bachelor of science in psychology from Fordham College at Lincoln Center in 2007. Presently, he is working toward a master’s degree in media management from the Graduate School of Business Administration.

WHY FORDHAM?
“I like being able to help Fordham alumni reconnect with classmates and facilitate better communication between the University and its graduates.”

AN ALUMNUS FOR ALUMNI
“My job does not require me to be a Fordham graduate, but because I am, I have a better understanding of the needs of the alumni population. In the course of my work, I have found that people expect me to be a graduate. In fact, everyone on the Alumni Relations staff is an alumnus/a.”

DIFFERENT CAMPUSES
“As an undergraduate, I noticed a huge difference between students at Lincoln Center and Rose Hill. But they are very similar as alumni, except that there are so many more from Rose Hill. Our events are for all graduates, except for campus-specific reunions in the spring.”

FAVORITE PROJECT
“My favorite work experience was making a farewell DVD for our former associate vice president. Everyone in my office sang a song parody for him, and it was a lot of fun to edit.”

OUTSIDE INTERESTS
“I am an avid photographer and love going to galleries and museums. I also play on a softball team and play the guitar.”
