Saturday, March 18, 2017
9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Costantino Room
Fordham Law School, 150 West 62nd Street
New York, NY 10023

In light of the Sustainable Millennium Development Goals, economic empowerment, with its aims of both education and employment, is crucial for realizing women’s rights. Changing social contexts, displacement, migration and social exclusion require new innovative approaches to increase access to education and employment for women.

This symposium will address comparative challenges and innovations that address access to employment for women migrants; entrepreneurship among women refugees; the use of microfinance and alternative economic development tools; as well as challenges and innovations aimed at combating women’s trafficking.
