IPED Spring 2021 Lecture Series: Acceso with Eric Carroll

Wednesday, February 24, 2021
1 – 2 p.m.

What are the usual bottlenecks and problems facing rural farmers and fisherfolk in the supply chain? How can a nonprofit aid in alleviating these issues? And how has COVID-19 affected rural farmers and fisherfolk? We are pleased to welcome Eric Carroll as he delves into answering these questions with Acceso, his social business builder. Acceso builds, invests, and consults with many stakeholders in the agriculture and fisheries sectors in Latin America. Among other things, it acts as a conduit to connect rural farmers and fisherfolk to buyers, impact investors, and philanthropists. It currently has operations in Colombia, El Salvador, and Haiti. As for our speaker, he has been with the organization for almost four years now. He holds a B.A. from Boston College and an M.A. from Fordham University.

This event is open to alumni, faculty/staff, parents, students, and the public.
