How have social media and online discourse influenced our ability to understand the world around us? Are we now trapped in epistemic bubbles or echo chambers from which it is hard to escape, and what does this mean for our democracy? This panel will explore these and related questions from the perspective of leading figures in media studies, philosophy, and law.

Speech Acts is a series of talks at Fordham University focusing on questions related to free speech, political polarization, the place of truth in an age of social media, and related topics. This is the seventh and penultimate event in the Speech Acts Series.
