UPDATE | Tuesday, July 24, 2012 | 7:30 a.m.
Morning classes at Fordham Westchester have been moved to the Rose Hill campus. The broken water main has been repaired, but more work is required to restore water service to the campus. The University hopes to reopen the Westchester campus later this morning. For the most current information, please check emergency phone line: (877) 375-HELP
Fordham University’s Westchester campus is closed and all classes cancelled as of 6 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2012, due to a water main break off campus that left the facilities without water.
The town of Harrison advised Fordham about the break at 3 p.m. on Monday. The resulting loss of water to the Westchester campus, located at 400 Westchester Avenue in West Harrison, N.Y., required the University to close the campus for health and safety reasons. The University’s Safety and Security Department will remain on scene and monitor the progress of repairs to the water main. The University hopes to reopen Fordham Westchester on Tuesday, July 24, 2012.
The University apologizes for any inconvenience this closing may cause for our students, faculty, and staff at the Westchester campus. Safety and Security will remain at the Westchester campus and can be reached at (914) 367-3333.
