Tour of Fordham University to Air on PBS

0

NEW YORK —Take A Walk Through the Bronx without leaving home on Monday, Dec. 5, at 8 p.m., by tuning into your local PBS channel to watch a documentary on the borough’s rich and vibrant history. Fordham University will be featured on the program.

The Bronx contains some of New York’s most intricate art deco residential gems and landscaped botanical gardens to rival Versailles. Joseph M. McShane, S.J., president of Fordham University, guides host David Hartman, historian Barry Lewis and viewers through Fordham’s historic University Church, focusing on the newly restored stained-glass windows depicting St. Peter, St. Paul the Apostle and the four evangelists. A gift of King Louis Philippe of France, the windows have been a delight and an inspiration to visitors since 1846.

A Walk Through the Bronx With David Hartman and Historian Barry Lewis is one chapter of the host’s and guide’s collaborations with Thirteen/WNET New York. The series offers original “video walking tours” of New York neighborhoods.
