With the addition of some new events, Fordham University’s annual alumni Jubilee promises to be more than just a celebration this year.

The reunion on June 4, 5 and 6, which is expected to draw some 1,700 alumni to the Rose Hill campus, will offer barbecues, class cocktail parties, an educational lecture, an evening gala and a special induction dinner for its Golden Rams and the Class of 1960.
New to this year’s program are:
• an afternoon workshop on “How to Build Your Career Portfolio,” followed by one-on-one counseling with career services consultant Annette McLaughlin, vice president of talent for The Response Companies.
• a special reception for alumni and friends of Fordham’s Curran Center for American Catholic Studies, and farewell to outgoing director Mark Massa. S.J., the Karl Rahner S.J. Chair in Theology.
• a big welcome of Marymount College alumnae to the Rose Hill campus for the first time.
• a renewal of wedding vows during a Mass in the University Church.
“Fordham’s Jubilee has been growing annually, and we wanted to make the experience more diverse for our alumni,” said reunion coordinator Mary Nolin. “Now Jubilarians can see friends and revisit memories while taking advantage of educational and career opportunities.”
This year’s gala gets underway with a series of smaller cocktail receptions on Friday, June 4, in separate venues for the Classes of 1965, 1970 and 2005, with a large alumni cocktail reception in Dagger John’s Pub in the McGinley Center. A separate dinner/dance will be held for the Class of 1960 and all Golden Rams.
Saturday’s highlights include a welcome speech by Joseph M. McShane, S.J., president of Fordham, an educational lecture by Terrence W. Klein, S.T.D., professor of theology, on Vanity Faith: Searching for Spirituality Among the Stars, and tours of campus and the nearby Bronx Zoo. The evening’s gala dinner takes place in three tents on Edwards Parade, with entertainment by a 14-piece orchestra and a D.J.
In other events, a Fordham’s President’s Club Cocktail Reception will honor other distinguished alumni with induction into the University’s Hall of Honor. Those being honored this year include John D. Feerick, FCRH ’58, LAW ’61, former dean of Fordham Law, and award-winning journalist Charles Osgood, FCRH ’54. The reception is open to current members of Fordham’s President’s Club.
Three Marymount alumnae also will receive awards. They are Jean P. Wynn, MC ’80, recipient of the Alumna of Achievement Award; Patricia Cotter, MC ’75, receiving the Golden Dome Award; and Ellen Marie Keane, R.S.H.M., MC ’60, professor emeriti of philosophy, recipient of the Gloria Gaines Memorial Award.
