Irish Studies Hosts 1916 Easter Rising Panel Discussion

NEW YORK�The Institute of Irish Studies at Fordham University and the Consulate General of Ireland will host a panel discussion commemorating the 90th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising in Dublin on Tuesday, April 11, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the 12th floor lounge of Lowenstein Center.

The panel, “The Easter Rising and the Irish Republic,” will be chaired by Maureen Murphy, dean of the School of Education, Hofstra University, and will include panelists Nancy J. Curtin, professor of history at Fordham University; Gale Swiontkowski, associate professor of English, and program director of the Institute of Irish Studies at Fordham University; Margaret MacCurtain, OP, former Burns Chair of Irish Studies, Boston College; and Francis Carroll, University of Manitoba.
