Big Four accounting powerhouse KPMG has chosen Fordham University as one of its 38 “premier schools” nationally, a signal honor for schools of business. Other universities designated as premier schools in the northeast include the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; Boston College; and Lehigh University.
“This is the first time Fordham has been given premier status,” said Donna Rapaccioli, Ph.D., interim dean of the College of Business Administration. “As a premier school Fordham will be receiving extra special attention from KPMG. The premier designation will allow Fordham Business faculty to tap into the expertise of KPMG partners, who will serve as technical advisors and be available as guest lecturers.”
Fordham business has developed a new freshman enrichment program that will introduce all CBA freshman to ethics, accounting, finance marketing and global business. KPMG sponsored the first enrichment session, “Ethical Issues within a Business School Environment,” which brought together business faculty, 15 KPMG employees who are CBA alumni, and Fordham seniors who are student mentors, to engage incoming freshmen on business ethics and decision making.
KPMG is one of the largest professional services firms in the world, employing more than 100,000 people in 144 countries.
