COVID-19 Update | Five Things | March 16, 2021

0

From the Office of the Vice President for Administration:

Dear Members of the Campus Community:

Here are this week’s five things you need to know about Fordham’s COVID-19 precautions, vaccinations, and University operations:

  • In the last 14 days 107 people in the University community tested positive for COVID-19, an overall positivity rate of 1.45%, as listed on the University dashboard.
  • Fordham is approved as a vaccination center and has the equipment and personnel ready. The University will begin offering vaccinations to the campus community as soon as we receive a supply of the vaccine (following whatever age, comorbidity, etc. requirements are in place from the state and city Departments of Health).
  • As of today, public health authorities are still advising COVID-19 testing for persons who have been vaccinated. The University will continue to require universal monthly testing for all on-campus personnel until we receive new guidance. (Students should have received an email regarding the March 26 testing deadline.)
  • Again, students who have received the full dose(s) of a COVID-19 vaccine should upload the information to the Student Health Portal. Faculty and staff who have received the full dose(s) of the vaccine, or need to inform the University of a COVID-19 test result, should send the information to covidresults@getvitalcheck.com. (This applies to faculty and staff working remotely and on campus.)*
  • Essential University workers, including teaching assistants and student workers, are now eligible to receive vaccinations in New York state, regardless of age or residency.

*Uploading vaccine verification to Vitalcheck is currently voluntary but recommended in order to keep individuals’ status updated in a HIPAA-compliant system.

You are required to use VitalCheck to verify your COVID-19 status. For more information, please see the COVID-19 Guidelines on the web.
