Five Things Update | March 11, 2021

Dear Members of the Campus Community:

Here is a correction and update to this week’s Five Things message:

  • As of March 11, New York state has expanded eligibility to receive COVID-19 vaccines to all essential college and University staff working on campus, regardless of age and state of residence. You may check your eligibility to receive a vaccine at the state’s Am I Eligible website.
  • Faculty and staff who have received the full dose(s) of a COVID-19 vaccine, or need to inform the University of a COVID-19 test result, should send the information to [email protected]. (This applies to faculty and staff working remotely and on campus.) Our apologies for the error.

You are required to use VitalCheck to verify your COVID-19 status. For more information, please see the COVID-19 Guidelines on the web.

COVID-19 Update | Five Things, March 10, 2021

Dear Members of the Campus Community:

Here are this week’s five things you need to know about Fordham’s COVID-19 precautions, vaccinations, and University operations:

  • In the last 14 days 157 people in the University community tested positive for COVID-19, an overall positivity rate of 2.13%, as listed on the University dashboard.
  • As of March 10, New York state residents 60 years of age and older are eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccines, per the Office of the Governor.
  • It is natural to relax our vigilance as we see a timeline emerging for universal availability of the vaccine, but the course of the pandemic is still largely determined by how rigorously we follow COVID-19 precautions. As of today, the vast majority of students, faculty, and staff are still vulnerable to infection: please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
  • New York City residents can be notified via text message (SMS) about new vaccination centers by signing up for alerts at Notify NYC. (Note that this service includes all emergency notifications for the city, not just those that are COVID-19 related.)
  • If you have received the full dose(s) of a vaccine, please upload the information to your student health portal (students) or email [email protected] (faculty and staff). If you test positive or display symptoms while quarantining following exposure to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, please notify University Health Services and upload a copy of your positive test results to your student health portal (students) or email your results to [email protected] (faculty and staff).

You are required to use VitalCheck to verify your COVID-19 status. For more information, please see the COVID-19 Guidelines on the web.
