COVID-19 Update | Five Things | February 17, 2021

0

From the Office of the Vice President for Administration:

Dear Members of the Campus Community:

Here are this week’s five things you need to know about Fordham’s COVID-19 precautions, vaccinations, and University operations:

  • In the last period 155 people in the University community tested positive for COVID-19, a positivity rate of 2.94%, as listed on the University dashboard.
  • Especially while the Rose Hill campus is on pause, students should not only observe COVID-19 precautions at all times, on and off campus, but avoid in-person group activities to the greatest extent possible.
  • The neighborhood adjacent to the Rose Hill campus has a COVID-19 positive rate of 9.91 percent for the period Feb. 7 to 13.
  • Quarantine and Isolation Protocol:
    • Quarantine and isolation are for a ten-day period, students are not permitted to leave their room until cleared, except for supervised testing toward the end of the 10-day period.
    • The Office of Residential Life staff has insured that meals are delivered to every quarantining/isolating student on campus. Some students who are quarantining/isolating in apartment-style housing assignments may request to prepare their own food in their own kitchens.
  • Fordham has no vaccines on hand. We will inform the University community when that changes. The CDC has a Frequently Asked Questions page with up-to-date information on vaccine availability. If you have received the two-dose vaccine you should still observe COVID-19 precautions: not enough information is currently available to say if or when CDC will stop recommending that people wear masks and avoid close contact with others to help prevent the spread of the virus.

You are required to use VitalCheck to verify your COVID-19 status. For more information, please see the COVID-19 Guidelines on the web.
