NEW YORK — The William D. Walsh Family Library has been ranked fifth in the nation by Princeton Review’s guide to The Best 351 Colleges, while Kaplan’s 2004 edition of The Unofficial, Unbiased Guide to the 328 Most Interesting Colleges ranks Fordham as having one of the most beautiful urban campuses in the country.
“This recognition is a testament to Fordham’s dedication to enhancing its culture of excellence,” said Joseph M. McShane, S.J., the president of Fordham University. “Fordham is the home of a community of scholars where the talents of each student are identified, cultivated and celebrated.”
In a two-page spread in The Best 351 Colleges, Princeton Review says that Fordham has a “great core curriculum” and that students enjoy the “small classes, an excellent library, and overall satisfaction with their academic experience.”
The Kaplan guide highlights the increasingly selective admissions process, the University’s extensive internship program and the “near-professional quality” of the student productions at Lincoln Center. The guide also notes the diversity found at the University’s three campuses, which boast more than 120 student organizations. Kaplan says that Fordham’s campuses are considered “extremely safe.”
