Mario Monti To Discuss European Competition

NEW YORK � European Commissioner of Competition Mario Monti, who is responsible for the European Union�s antitrust and mergers policy, will speak about EC competition policy at Fordham University on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 11:50 a.m. in Pope Auditorium on the Lincoln Center campus, 113 W. 60th St. Monti�s lecture is part of the 29th Annual Conference on International Antitrust Law & Policy, a two-day event sponsored by the School of Law. This year�s conference focuses on international antitrust policy, substantive standards for mergers, antitrust and the courts, and antitrust on the Pacific Rim. Speakers include: Timothy J. Muris, chairman of the Federal Trade Commission; Charles A. James, assistant attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.; Fr�d�ric Jenny, vice president for the French Competition Council.
