Ipsita Banerjee, Ph.D., professor of chemistry; Elizabeth Hall, Ph.D., assistant professor of physical/biophysical chemistry; and Joshua Schrier, Ph.D., professor of chemistry, ARTS AND SCIENCES, were instrumental in securing Fordham as the recipient of a grant in the Jean Dreyfus Lectureship for Undergraduate Institutions program. The award will support a two-day visit to Fordham by Professor Taekjip Ha of Johns Hopkins University who is a pioneer in the field of single-molecule biophysics. The grant also provides stipends for two summer undergraduate research students, which will be awarded in a competitive process. 

Sarit Kattan Gribetz, Ph.D., ARTS AND SCIENCES, associate professor in theology received the Jordan Schnitzer Book Award from the Association for Jewish Studies for her book, Time and Difference in Rabbinic Judaism (Princeton University Press, 2020).

Aristotle Papanikolaou, Ph.D., ARTS AND SCIENCES, professor of theology and the Archbishop Demetrios Chair in Orthodox Theology and Culture, published “The Ascetical as the Civic: Civil Society as Political Communion,” in Orthodoxy in Two Manifestations? The Conflict in Ukraine as Expression of a Fault Line in World Orthodoxy, ed. Thomas Bremer, Alfons Brüning, Nadieszda Kizenko (Peter Lang GmbH, Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften, 2022).

Robert J. Parmach, Ph.D., ADMINISTRATION, director of Ignatian mission, authored “Difficult Conversations That Make a Difference: Socrates with a Hint of Ignatius published by Conversations on Jesuit Higher Education on Sept. 4, and “Mistakes to Live By: An Ignatian Story of Leveraging Failure” in SAPIENTIA: Exploring Faith, Culture, and Society published by the Center on Religion and Culture at Fordham on Oct. 13.

Francis Petit, Ed.D, GABELLI SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, recently published “The Executive MBA Tuition Sponsorship Dilemma: A Case Study Analysis” in the Journal of Applied Business and Economics, 24(1) 2022.

Carleen Sheehan, M.F.A., ARTS AND SCIENCES, associate clinical professor (painting and drawing), delivered a talk and had a closing reception for her exhibition “Ice Fall,” on Nov. 30, which has been on view for three semesters at Harvard’s Center for the Environment.

Larry Welborn, Ph.D., ARTS AND SCIENCES, professor of New Testament and early Christianity, has published the following co-edited book: The First Urban Churches 7: Thessalonica, ed. James R. Harrison and L. L. Welborn (Atlanta:  SBL Press, 2022).
