University Mourns Samuel Arumala, LAW

Fordham University mourns Samuel Arumala, a second-year student at Fordham Law School, who died at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan, on Jan. 2, 2011.

“Our hearts go out to Samuel’s family and loved ones,” said Joseph M. McShane, S.J., president of Fordham. “It is a blow like no other to lose someone so full of life and promise, more so without the opportunity to say goodbye. I know the University community, and especially Samuel’s classmates and faculty at Fordham Law, join me in keeping Samuel and his family in our hearts and prayers.”

Funeral services for Arumala will be held on Saturday, Jan. 15, at 10 a.m. at Parkway Church of God, 600 Edison St., Salisbury, Md. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, PA, 501 Snow Hill Rd., Salisbury, Md. Condolences may be sent to the family via www.hollowayfh.com.

The Law School will provide bus transportation to the funeral services. The bus will leave the Law School (140 W. 62nd St.) at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, and will be returning the same day. Salisbury is approximately four and a half  hours from New York City. To reserve a seat on the bus, please contact [email protected] no later than noon, Thursday, Jan. 13.

Arumala is survived by his mother and father, Claudia and Joseph Arumala, and his sister and brother, Ruth and David Arumala.
