Fordham Law School Celebrates 100th Anniversary

NEW YORK—Several prominent New York judges, civic leaders and alumni of Fordham Law School will join more than 1,000 guests to celebrate the School’s 100th anniversary tonight at Gotham Hall in Manhattan.

Notable alumni and guests will include Geraldine Ferraro, ’60, former congresswoman and U.S. vice presidential candidate; Edward Koch, former mayor of New York City; Judith S. Kaye, chief justice of the New York Court of Appeals; Edward R. Korman, chief judge of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York; Michael B. Mukasey, chief judge for the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York; John M. Walker Jr., chief judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals, second circuit.

Fordham Law School’s alumni, faculty and students have announced a pledge to perform 100,000 hours of public service work—a commitment no other law school has ever made—in honor of the School’s centennial.

Fordham University School of Law was founded in 1905, and has more than 14,000 alumni practicing in all 50 states and throughout the world. Over the past 100 years, Fordham Law School has secured a place as a national leader in corporate law, international law, alternate dispute resolution, legal history, human rights law, clinical education and legal ethics.
