Some Papal History on Display

0

When Pope Francis arrives in the United States on Sept. 22, he will be the fourth pope to touch American soil. In October 1965, Pope Paul VI became the first pope to visit America in a trip that included a first-ever papal visit to the United Nations.

Subsequent papal visits were made by Pope John Paul II (seven times) from 1979-99, and Pope Benedict XVI in 2008.

For the month of September, check out the Rose Hill campus Walsh Library’s first-floor display featuring news coverage and photos from the various papal visits.
