Laura S. Bassin, M.S., ADM,
senior associate director of career services in the Graduate School of Business Administration, delivered a presentation titled “Deep Dive Interview Prep” at the MBA Career Services Council Annual Conference in Boston.

John A. Fortunato, Ph.D., BUS,
associate professor in communication and media management, published a chapter titled “Digital Media and Sports Advertising” in the Handbook of Research on Digital Media and Advertising (IGI Global, 2010).

Albert Greco, Ed.D., BUS,
professor of marketing, has been appointed editor of the JSP Scholarly Publishing Book Series at the University of Toronto Press. The first book will be published in January.

Quamrul Haider, Ph.D., A&S,
professor and chair of the Department of Physics, spoke at the International Symposium on Mesic Nuclei, held from June 15 to 17 in Krakow, Poland. The title of his talk was “Eta-Mesic Nucleus and COSY-GEM Data.” He also has been appointed a member of the International Ph.D. Studies of Jagiellonian University in Poland.

Amir H. Idris, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of African and African-American studies and associate chair of the department, participated in a roundtable on Sept. 16 titled “Preparing for the Sudan Referenda and Beyond,” organized by the International Peace Institute in New York City.

Beth Knobel, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of communication and media studies, has co-authored a book with Mike Wallace,Advice for the Next Generation of Journalists (Three Rivers Press, 2010).

Philip M. Napoli, Ph.D., BUS,
associate professor of communications and media management and director of the Donald McGannon Communication Research Center, published a co-authored article, “On Making Public Policy with Publicly Available Data: The Case of U.S. Communications Policymaking,” in the Fall 2010 issue of Government Information Quarterly. In September, Professor Napoli’s chapter on Global Deregulation and Media Corporations appeared in Managing Media Work.

Donna Rapaccioli, Ph.D., BUS,
dean of the Gabelli School of Business and Fordham business faculty, is a 2010 honoree at the official Bronx celebration of Italian-American Heritage and Culture Month in October.

Brian Rose, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of communication and media studies, interviewed novelist Kazuo Ishiguro, director Mark Romanek and actress Carey Mulligan after a screening of Never Let Me Go for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

Kieran Scott, Ed.D., GRE,
associate professor of religion and religious education, published “Illness and the Paradox of Power: A Spirituality of Mortality” in Spiritual and Psychological Aspects of Illness (Paulist Press, 2010).

Msgr. Thomas J. Shelley, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of theology, gave a lecture “We Have Been Here Before: Reflections on the Priesthood Today” on May 25 at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, N.Y., and published “Empire City Catholicism: Catholic Education in New York” in Urban Catholic Education: Tales of Twelve American Cities (University of Notre Dame Press, 2010).

Harold Takooshian, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of psychology, co-authored “The Remarkable Life of Avery Cardinal Dulles, S.J.,” for theScribner Encyclopedia of American Lives (Gale, 2010), with John J. Cecero, S.J., professor of psychology.
