Heining Cham, PhD, A&S,
assistant professor of psychology, received the Prix Leenaards award from the Foundation Leenaards for innovative exploratory research projects in quality of life in older adults.

Tom De Luca, PhD, A&S,
professor of political science, was awarded a fellowship by the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs to do research this summer on a comparison of American exceptionalism and Chinese exceptionalism.

Celia B. Fisher, PhD, A&S,
Marie Ward Doty Professor of Psychology and director of the Fordham Center for Ethics Education, has been appointed to the External Advisory Board for the National Institutes of Health Adolescent Brain and Cognitive Development Study. She also published “The HIV and Drug Abuse Prevention Research Training Institute: Training Early-Career Scientists to Conduct Research on Research Ethics” in the Journal of Empirical Research on Human Research Ethics.

John A. Fortunato, PhD, BUS,
professor of communication and media management, published an article entitled “Business-to-Business Sponsorship Opportunities: Examining UPS’s Functional Congruence with the NCAA” in the Journal of Global Scholars of Marketing Science special issue on business-to-business marketing.

assistant director of the Fordham Center for Ethics Education, published “Confidentiality and Disclosure Dilemmas in Psychotherapy with Adolescents” in The Clinical Psychologist, a publication of the American Psychological Association (APA).

David S. Glenwick, PhD, A&S,
professor of psychology, edited the book Handbook of Methodological Approaches to Community-Based Research: Qualitative, Quantitative, and Mixed Methods (Oxford University Press, 2016).

professor emeritus of political science, published “The End of American Urban Policy—or a Beginning,” in the Urban Affairs Review in February 2016.

Dean McKay, PhD, A&S,
professor of psychology, published “Empirically Supported Treatment: Recommendations for a New Model” in Clinical Psychology: Science and Practice and “Transparency of Outcome Reporting and Trial Registration of Randomized Controlled Trials Published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology” in PLOS One.

Desire Miessein, PhD, A&S,
lecturer of physics, published “Wave Propagation and Diffraction Through A Subwavelength Nano-Hole In A 2D Plasmonic Screen” as a chapter in the book Low-Dimensional and Nanostructured Materials and Devices (Springer, 2016) and “Electromagnetic Wave Transmission Through A Subwavelength Nano-hole In A Two-Dimensional Plasmonic Layer” in the Journal of the Optical Society of America.

associate professor of theology, won a Franklin grant from the American Philosophical Association in support of her project ‘Among Winged Beings’: The Poetics and Politics of Catholic Orientalism in Europe (1920-1960).

Aristotle Papanikolaou, PhD, A&S,
Archbishop Demetrios Chair in Orthodox Theology and Culture, published “Primacy in the Thought of John [Zizioulas], Metropolitan of Pergamon” in Primacy in the Church: The Office of Primate and the Authority of Councils, Vol 1 (St Vladimir’s Seminary Press, 2016).

Christiana Peppard, PhD, A&S,
assistant professor of theology, science, and ethics, gave the Winter Quarter keynote address, “Integral Ecology: Pope Francis and Planetary Thinking,” at the Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture in conjunction with the Center for Environmental Justice and Sustainability at Seattle University, on Feb. 4.

Michael Pirson, PhD, BUS,
associate professor of management systems, was named a distinguished fellow at the Fowler Center at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

Nina Rowe, PhD, A&S,
associate professor of art history, was awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship for the 2016-2017 academic year for her work on The World in a Book: Weltchroniken and Society at the End of the Middle Ages.
