Kirk A. Bingaman, PhD, GRE,
associate professor of pastoral care and counseling, published the article “When Acceptance is the Road to Growth and Healing: Incorporating the Third Wave of Cognitive Therapies into Pastoral Care and Counseling” in the journal Pastoral Psychology. The article is a paper that was presented on Oct. 1, 2014 at the New Directions in Pastoral Theology conference held at Princeton Theological Seminary.

David Gautschi, PhD, BUS,
Joseph Keating, SJ, Professor of Marketing, ran a conference on innovation in business and energy at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, a university in Switzerland, on April 9-10. The conference was also featured in the university’s news magazine, Flash.

Chi Adanna Mgbako, LAW,
clinical professor of law and director of the Leitner International Human Rights Clinic at Fordham Law, has been named one of this year’s New York Law Journal Rising Stars. The NYLJ Rising Stars will be honored at an event on June 16 at Manhattan Penthouse.

Fredric Nachbaur, ADM,
director of the Fordham University Press, contributed an essay as part of the article “Measuring Success: The Value of Our Work Can’t Always Be Captured in a Spreadsheet” for Choice magazine’s annual university press forum article in May 2015.

Alex Novikoff, PhD, A&S,
assistant professor of history, delivered the lecture “The Ars Disputandi and the ‘Art’ of Disputation” at the Medieval Seminar Series at the University of Ghent’s Henri Pirenne Institute of Medieval Studies on May 19.

Ana R. Pires, PhD, A&S,
assistant professor of mathematics, gave a talk at the Cornell Topology Festival on May 8-10, a colloquium at Drexel University on May 18, and was one of the speakers at Pint of Science NYC at the DSK bar in Brooklyn on May 20.

Christopher Rodgers, ADM,
assistant vice president and dean of students, spoke as part of a panel on key features of comprehensive programs to reduce alcohol problems and improve campus safety at the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene’s “Tools for Addressing Student Alcohol Use” conference at Columbia University’s School of Law on April 17.

Asif Siddiqi, PhD, A&S,
professor of history, has been awarded a grant from The Huntington Research Fellowship Program and will be the Eleanor Searle Visiting Professor in the History of Science and Technology in Sept. 2015.
