Robert Brancatelli, Ph.D., GRE,
visiting professor of religious education, spoke on Dec. 8 at the CFO Alliance on “The CFO as Decision-Maker: Advancing Leadership at Points of Decision.”

David S. Glenwick, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of psychology, presented a paper, “Correlates of Attachment Perceptions in Parents of Children With Autism Spectrum Disorders,” in November at the annual convention of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies in Toronto.

Paul Kantor, Ph.D., A&S,
professor emeritus of political science, presented “A Realist Perspective on Metropolitan Governance” on Dec. 1 at the conference “Paris Metropole: The Challenge of Governance,” which was held in Paris.

Dawn B. Lerman, Ph.D., BUS,
director of the Center for Positive Marketing, marketing area chair and associate professor of marketing, joined the board of directors for the Advertising Educational Foundation.

Marcia Pally, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of American language and culture, published The New Evangelicals: Expanding the Vision of the Common Good (Eerdmans, 2011).

Robert J. Parmach, Ph.D., A&S,
freshman dean of Fordham College at Rose Hill, faculty co-director of the Manresa scholars program and instructor of philosophy and theology, published “Theodore M. Hesburgh and His Philosophy of Catholic Higher Education” in Religious Education and “The Value of the Other Half: Qualifying Cura Personalis” in Conversations on Jesuit Higher Education.

Robert J. Penella, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of classics, published “The Progymnasmata in Imperial Greek Education” in a recent issue of Classical World and “Menelaus, Odysseus and the Limits of Eloquence in Libanius, Declamations3 and 4” in Libanios, le premier humaniste (Alessandria, 2011). He has been appointed a member of the international advisory board of the new electronic journal Revue des Etudes Tardo-antiques.

Mary G. Powers, Ph.D., A&S,
professor emeritus of sociology, published an entry, “Occupation and Education,” in the second edition of the Encyclopedia of the U.S. Census (CQ ZPress, 2011). The volume is the major reference on the history and content of the United States Census.

Laura Stout Sosinsky, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of psychology, published “Assistant Teachers in Pre-Kindergarten Programs: What Role Do Lead Teachers Feel Assistants Play in Classroom Management and Teaching?” inEarly Education and Development.

Warren W. Tryon, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of psychology, received a three-year National Science Foundation grant for “Cell Phone-Based Activity Tracking for Telehealth.”

Hrishikesh D. Vinod, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of economics, gave a talk on “Applications of Matrix Algebra” based on his recent book on the subject on Nov. 30 at the mathematics department of William Paterson University.
