Tom Beaudoin, Ph.D., GRE,
associate professor of practical theology, chaired a plenary session on “Roman Catholic Challenges and Contributions in Practical Theology,” at the Association of Practical Theology biennial conference on April 10 in Boston.

Thomas F. Cloonan, Ph.D., A&S,
visiting professor of psychology, has edited The Redirection of Psychology (CIRP, 2010), a collection of essays by 17 contributors. The book is in honor of Amedeo P. Giorgi, who received his Ph.D. in psychology from Fordham in 1958. Frederick J. Wertz, Ph.D., professor of psychology, contributed to the volume.

Benjamin M. Cole, Ph.D., BUS,
assistant professor of management, has published “Breadth-of-Impact Frontier: How Firm-level Decisions and Selection Environment Dynamics Generate Boundary-spanning Inventions,” inTechnovation with co-author Preeta M. Banerjee, Ph.D., Brandeis University.

John Davenport, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of philosophy, served as plenary commentator for a lecture, “Why Be Just?” at the 4th annual conference on ethics at Felician College, held on April 24, in Rutherford, N.J.

Franklin Harkins, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of theology, was awarded a Mellon Fellowship at the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies in Toronto for academic year 2010-2011.

Bradford Hinze, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of theology, has been elected president of The College Theology Society for the term 2010-2012.

Tina Maschi, Ph.D., GSS,
assistant professor of social work, has been named a Hartford Faculty Scholar by The John A. Hartford Foundation of New York City for her research, “Exploring the Relationship between Trauma, Coping Resources, and Physical and Mental Well-Being among Older Adults in Prison.”

Beverly Musgrave, Ph.D., GRE,
assistant professor of pastoral care, has edited Spiritual and Psychological Aspects of Illness (2010, Paulist Press), a ministry resource of twenty essays by experts on various aspects of loss, dying, and death. Contributors include Kieran Scott, Ph.D., associate professor of theology, and John Cecero, S.J., professor of psychology.

Maureen H. O’Connell, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of theology, has received a summer research fellowship from the Wabash Center, funded by the Lilly Endowment, for her forthcoming book from Liturgical Press, titled If These Walls Could Talk.

Shannon L. Ortiz, ADM,
director of security for Fordham IT, presented “Application Security and Software Development Life Cycle,” at the Educause Security 2010 conference in Atlanta.

Michael Peppard, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of theology, received a faculty research grant for his project, The Christian Son of God in the Roman World, under contract with Oxford University Press. He also gave a lecture at the Columbia University Faculty Seminar titled “New Testament Imagery in the Earliest Christian Baptistery” on Feb. 11.

Patrick J. Ryan, S.J., A&S,
Laurence J. McGinley Professor of Religion and Society, delivered the annual Spring McGinley Lecture, “Faith and Culture: Jewish, Christian and Muslim Perspectives,” on April 7 at Rose Hill and repeated it on April 8 at Lincoln Center. He presented “The Stained Glass Windows of the Fordham University Church” at the 2010 Spring Concert on April 11 at the University Church and “Trust: Inter-Faith and Cross Cultural Perspectives” for Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School’s Fordham Gateway Program on April 15. Fr. Ryan has been appointed a consultant for the New York Public Library’s future exhibit on Jewish, Christian and Muslim Library holdings, and serves on the advisory board for the documentary film “Sacred: The Children of Abraham.”

Jay C. Wade, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of psychology, has published “Sexual Orientation Change Efforts in Men: A Client Perspective,” in the winter 2010 issue of The Journal of Men’s Studies. Wade co-authored the article with Elan Y. Karten, Ph.D.
