Tom Beaudoin, Ph.D., GRE,
associate professor of theology, has published “Spirituality and Practice in Theological Education” in the American Academy of Religion’s Religious Studies News.

Patricia Carlucci, ADM,
executive director, Fordham IT, was honored by the State of New York on March 11 at an event in Bay Ridge, N.Y., in conjunction with Women’s History Month. Carlucci was honored for her contributions to her community and to St. Finbar’s parish and for her leadership in the IT profession.

Qin Gao, Ph.D., GSS,
assistant professor of social work, has published an article, “Redistributive Nature of the Chinese Social Benefit System: Progressive or Regressive?” in The China Quarterly.

Karina Hogan, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of theology, has been elected co-chair of the “Wisdom and Apocalypticism in Early Judaism and Early Christianity” Section of the Society for Biblical Literature.

Robert F. Hurley, Ph.D., BUS,
professor of management, has had a 2006 article from the Harvard Business Review included in How to Be a Good Boss in a Bad Economy (Harvard University Press, 2009).

Daniel Alexander Jones, M.F.A., A&S,
assistant professor of theatre and visual arts, has been chosen to direct a production of Sweet Tea: Black Gay Men of the South at the Viaduct Theatre in Chicago, Il. The play runs from April 29 through May 29.

Oneka LaBennett, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of African and African American studies, gave a talk, “Consuming Identities: Race, Gender and Transnationalism Amongst West Indian Girls in Brooklyn,” at the Columbia American Studies seminar on March 11.

Michael E. Lee, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of theology, has received the 2010 Book Prize from the Hispanic Theological Initiative (HTI) at Princeton Theological Seminary for his Bearing the Weight of Salvation: The Soteriology of Ignacio Ellacuria (Orbis Books).

Salvatore Longarino, ADM,
director of the Office of International Services, has been named the 2010 Advocate of the Year by the Association of International Educators. He received the award in a ceremony on March 16, where he was recognized for his governmental advocacy on behalf of international education.

Joseph M. McShane, S.J., ADM,
president of Fordham University, has been named to Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s City Charter Review Commission, the agency that reviews New York City’s 400-page charter and makes recommendations for changes.

Philip M. Napoli, Ph.D., BUS,
professor of communications and media management and director of the Donald McGannon Communication Research Center, delivered a presentation in March titled “The Academy and the Information Infrastructure for Media Ownership Research,” at Media Concentration Around the World, a conference hosted by Columbia University.

Peter Steinfels, Ph.D., ADM.,
co-director of the Center on Religion and Culture, gave a talk, “Between God and the Secular: The Future of Citizenship,” on March 23 at Duke University.

Matthew Weinshenker, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of sociology, has published a chapter, “Workplace Flexibility for Federal Civilian Employees,” in an edited volume, Workplace Flexibility: Realigning 20th-Century Jobs for a 21st-Century Workforce (Cornell, 2010). His co-authors were Kathleen Christensen of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and Blake Sisk (GSAS ’09).
