WHO SHE IS
Executive Director, Instructional Technology Academic Computing (ITAC)

TIME AT FORDHAM
About 10 years

WHAT SHE DOES
She leads ITAC, a division of Fordham IT that develops and manages academic technology services for the University community. Specifically, ITAC provides leadership and support for online learning initiatives; faculty technology training and development; student technology services; plus the management and development of smart classrooms, media services, faculty technology centers, teaching labs and video conferencing, among other services.

BACKGROUND
“I have a doctoral degree in communication, computing and technology in education from Columbia University. I received my undergraduate education in Tehran, Iran. Prior to coming to Fordham, I worked in the same capacity at Hofstra University, SUNY and Teachers College at Columbia University.”

my.fordham.edu IS HERE
“My.Fordham (http://my.fordham.edu) eventually will be the gateway to all of Fordham’s online services. With one login, the portal will connect students, faculty and staff to online academic services and resources, including the Student Information System for registration and advisement, library databases, e-mail and Myfile (the new central storage system).”

REMEMBER
You must claim your new AccessIT ID by March to access My.Fordham and the Student Information System. To claim your ID, go to http://my. fordham.edu.

ENGAGING WORK
“It’s our job to translate technological development into pedagogical solutions, which is a very challenging and fascinating task. That requires a keen understanding of pedagogy, people, their diverse needs and approaches to technology.”

POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT
“Fordham shares many of the same educational technology challenges as other universities, but I find the Fordham community the most encouraging and appreciative of all institutions I have worked with. Above all, I enjoy Fordham’s intellectual environment, which is very rewarding and makes all we do from the technology perspective more meaningful.”

OUTSIDE INTERESTS
“I enjoy traveling, both nationally and internationally. I love to read history and literature, listen to opera, learn other languages, work with computer graphics, and one of these days I would like to return to my first love, which is painting.”
