Fran Blumberg, Ph.D., GSE,
associate professor of educational psychology and coordinator of the Educational Psychology Program, edited When East Meets West: Media Research and Practice in the US and China (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2007).

Arnaldo Cruz-Malavé, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of Spanish and comparative literature and associate director of the Latin American and Latino Studies Institute, gave a reading at Barnes & Noble Bookstore, 82nd Street and Broadway, on Oct. 25 from his book, Queer Latino Testimonio, Keith Haring, and Juanito Xtravaganza: Hard Tails(Palgrave/Macmillan, 2007).

Amelio A. D’Onofrio, Ph.D., GSE,
clinical professor and director of the Psychological Services Institute, has authored Adolescent Self-Injury: A Comprehensive Guide for Counselors and Health Care Professionals (Springer Publishing, 2007).

Avery Cardinal Dulles, S.J., Ph.D., A&S,
Laurence J. McGinley Professor of Religion and Society, recently published the chapter “Authority in the Church” in Civilizing Authority: Society, State, and Church (Lanham: Lexington Books, 2007). Cardinal Dulles also delivered the keynote address on “Models of Catechesis” at the Diocesan Catechetical Day for the Lansing, Mich., Diocese in October.

John A. Fortunato, Ph.D., BUS,
associate professor of communication and media management, is the lead author of two recent journal publications: “A Communication Plan for Autism and its Applied Behavior Analysis Treatment: A Framing Strategy” in Child and Youth Care Forum and “Reconciling Sports Sponsorship Exclusivity with Antitrust Law” in Texas Review of Entertainment & Sports Law.

Mary Ann Forgey, Ph.D., GSS,
associate professor of social service, taught a course on working with the involuntary client via video conferencing with Hilda Loughran, Ph.D., department of social policy and social work, University College Dublin (UCD), on Oct. 18 as part of a collaboration between the GSS and UCD’s School of Social Policy and Social Work.

David S. Glenwick, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of psychology, has published “Predictors and Moderators of Psychological Distress in Mothers of Children with Pervasive Developmental Disorders” in the Journal of Family Social Work.

Glenn Hendler, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of English, has co-edited Keywords for American Cultural Studies (New York University Press, 2007) with Bruce Burgett, Ph.D., professor of American and interdisciplinary studies in the Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences Program at the University of Washington.

Dean McKay, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of psychology, has co-edited Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder: Subtypes and Spectrum Conditions (Elsevier, 2007). McKay also has been named an associate editor of the Journal of Cognitive Psychotherapy.

Mark Naison Ph.D., A&S,
professor of history and African and African American studies, gave a talk in Berlin in October on “Bronx Music and Migration” at the New York-Berlin Conference sponsored by the House of the Cultures of the World.

Robert J. Parmach, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant dean of Fordham College at Rose Hill and adjunct assistant professor of philosophy and theology, was recently elected to the Medical Ethics Board of the Richmond University Medical Center of Staten Island, N.Y.

Francis Petit, Ed.D., BUS,
assistant dean and director of executive programs at the Graduate School of Business Administration, recently presented “Promoting Executive Programs with a Sports Marketing Strategy: Lessons Learned by Fordham University” at the Executive MBA Council Annual Conference in October in Toronto.

Mary E. Procidano, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of psychology, presented a paper, “Interpersonal Support and Nonsupport Predict Subjective Life-Events Appraisal,” at the American Psychological Association’s annual convention in San Francisco in August.

Falguni Sen, Ph.D., BUS,
professor of management, participated on the India Business Roundtable, sponsored by The Economist magazine on Oct. 17 in New York City. Sen took part in a panel discussion on doing business with India.

Peter Steinfels, Ph.D.,
co-director of the Center for Religion and Culture, published “A Catholic in the Room: Second Thoughts on Hilaire Belloc” in the Oct. 28 issue of Commonweal Magazine. Steinfels also spoke on “Catholic Identity in a Secular Age” on Oct. 23 at Corpus Christi University Parish at the University of Toledo.

Warren W. Tryon, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of psychology, presented five papers: “The Relationship Between Temperament and Personality Across the Life Span,” “Are Children With the Combined Form of ADHD Pervasively Hyperactive?” “Interrelationships of Inattention, Hyperactivity, and Impulsivity in Children With ADHD,” “Inferential Confidence Intervals for Two Independent Proportions,” and “Evaluating Independent Correlations Using Inferential Confidence Intervals,” at the American Psychological Association’s annual convention in San Francisco in August.

Chun Zhang, Ph.D., GSE,
associate professor of education, has been chosen as a reviewer for the Switzer Research Fellowship Grant, administered by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research at the U.S. Department of Education. Zhang also received an $800,000 grant from the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) at the Department of Education for a project on preparing early education teachers to raise the performance of young learners with special needs.
