Avery Cardinal Dulles, S.J., A&S,
Lawrence J. McGinley Professor of Religion and Society, delivered the fall McGinley Lecture at Fordham on “The Ignatian Charism at the Dawn of the Twenty-First Century.” He also lectured at Duquesne University in December on “The Metaphysical Realism of John Paul II.” Recent publications include “The Mission of the Church in Gaudium et Spes” in The Church and Human Freedom: Forty Years After Gaudium et Spes (Villanova University Press, 2006), and “Catholicism 101: Challenges to a Theological Education” in the fall issue of Horizons.

The book examines the substantive issues, challenges, and problems confronting the diverse book publishing industry in the United States. It has been described as the definitive social and economic analysis of the current state and future trends of the industry.
