Fordham Theatre Grad Named New Yorker of the Week

Fordham Theatre alumna Holly-Anne Devlin, FCLC ’03, was recently named NY1’s New Yorker of the Week, an honor awarded to New Yorkers doing their part to give back and help those in need. Devlin formed the Hells Kitchen Happiness Krewe, a pop-up band of artists who visit different establishments in the neighborhood and offer surprise performances in an effort to boost revenue and return some good vibes and energy to the area.

“When people see these brass bands coming through the neighborhood, you instantly feel the joy, relief, and healing, which is something that this city needs right now,” Devlin said. “We’ll go to a restaurant at the beginning of the night and it will be totally empty, and by the time we leave, the place will be filled.”

The Hell’s Kitchen Happiness Krewe has met with ongoing success, and Devlin has expanded the initiative to other neighborhoods in Manhattan—including the #westvillagelove initiative in the West Village—as well as Brooklyn and Queens, according to a statement on the website for Kaleidoscope Entertainment, one of her three production companies.

Devlin also owns production companies Happy Hour Entertainment and Wine Lovers LLC, and has been a creative team member on numerous hit Broadway shows, including Jersey Boys, Bring It On: The Musical, Billy Crystal’s 700 Sundays, and more.
