IPED Fall 2021 Lecture Series: Forecasting NYC Transportation During COVID-19

How did New York City’s transportation fare during COVID-19? Why is it important to forecast it? During this lecture, Matthew Jacobs will discuss forecasting NYC transportation during the pandemic. Among its umbrella mandates, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is tasked with ensuring the smooth and safe transportation of the states’ residents.

As for our speaker, he has been with the organization for more than five years now as a senior economic analyst. An economist for more than 20 years, he has had previous stints with the Asian Development Bank, A. Gary Shilling & Co. Inc., the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, and the Louis Berger Group. Experienced in both quantitative and qualitative analysis, he specializes in transportation economics and finance. He holds an M.A. in international political economy and development from Fordham University.
