Social workers often work with clients who have suffered losses in their lives. Join Joan Cavanagh, Ph.D., for this week’s professional development workshop to look at some of the impacts, both positive and negative, that religious and spiritual traditions have on the ways people negotiate losses in their lives.
Speaker Bio:
Joan P. Cavanagh, Ph.D., is the director of campus ministry for the Westchester campus, and the director of spiritual and pastoral ministries at Fordham University. Before coming to Fordham in 1997, Cavanagh trained as a hospital chaplain and spent four years as one in several major NYC hospitals. Her training earned her advanced standing with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. She also received bereavement training at Calvary Hospital.
