Freeing Agunot in Practice: Aspects of the New York Experience

Thursday, February 24, 2022
10 – 11:30 a.m.

The Agunah panel discussion will concentrate on the problem of Jewish women whose husbands refuse to grant them a bill of divorce (Get), and who are, therefore, unable to remarry under Jewish law. The discussion aims to highlight the scope of the problem and to raise awareness of current practices available for its amelioration.

Panelists include a representative from a leading New York Agunah relief agency and from a New York family support organization. A Rabbinic responder will facilitate the discussion.
