FCLC’s 10th Reunion Means More Venues, Enhanced Programs

0

When Fordham College at Lincoln Center alumni return to their alma mater on Thursday, June 10, for the 10th FCLC reunion, there will be more events than ever from which to choose.

Fordham University’s campus in the heart of Manhattan takes full advantage of its location by offering a lunch and walking tour of Central Park this year. The event gets underway at 1:30 p.m. and includes a guided tour of Columbus Circle, Belvedere Castle, the Carousel and Conservatory Garden.

Other new programming includes a ramped-up Alumni College: a series of educational lectures by FCLC-based faculty. This year offers five topics by top faculty, including John Entelis, Ph.D., professor of political science and director of the Middle East Studies Program, who will speak on “American-Arab Relations Under Obama.” Matthew Maguire, M.A., director of the theatre program, will discuss “Everything You Wanted to Know About Playwriting.”

“We wanted to enhance this year’s reunion, add more programming and give it a new feel,” said Nicole Moore, FCLC reunion coordinator. “Besides highlighting the neighborhood around Fordham’s campus and featuring its excellent faculty, we wanted to offer a fuller and more diverse program of activities for those alumni coming in for the day.”

The event is expected to draw some 400 alumni and walk-ins are welcomed, said Moore.

Other special events include an invitation-only reception with Robert Grimes, S.J., dean of FCLC, a special exhibition, Local Color: Four Fordham Alumnae, and a reception in the Center Gallery for alumni of the Department of Theatre and Visual Arts.

Also for the first time, the evening’s program will take place under a tent on the Lowenstein Plaza, and will include a special performance by FCLC’s Fana Testagiorgis, a student in the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater/Fordham University BFA program.
