Mario Gabelli (GSB ’65) will address business students on the nation’s economic outlook and investment strategies at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Fordham University’s Rose Hill campus.

The lecture will mark Gabelli’s first appearance with students since he provided the undergraduate business college with a $25 million gift, the largest in Fordham’s history. The gift will be used to expand student scholarships and faculty chairs, and to create the Center of Global Investment Analysis in a new business facility at Hughes Hall.

As a sign of the University’s appreciation, the college was renamed the Gabelli School of Business (GSB) this fall.

The event will be held in Keating First on the Rose Hill campus, and is open to the University community. RSVPs are requested.

Gabelli, a philanthropist, investor and chairman and CEO of GAMCO Investors Inc., is a native of the Bronx and resident of Greenwich, Conn. He is a second-generation American, the first in his family to attend college and a summa cum laude graduate of Fordham. He also holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University.

Preceding Gabelli’s presentation, there will be a live ram at the McGinley Center from noon to 2 p.m. and then on Edwards Parade from 2 to 5 p.m. The ram is the property of Dawn Animal Agency, and will be accompanied by professional animal handlers.
