Panel to Discuss Broadway’s 2011 Breakout Season

Fordham University’s Theatre Program has partnered with the New York Drama Desk to host “Anatomy of a Breakout,” a Nov. 13 panel discussion at the Lincoln Center campus.

The event will focus on the 2011 New York theatre season’s surprising number of critically acclaimed new plays.

Samuel L. Jackson, who is acting on Broadway as Martin Luther King. Jr. in The Mountaintop, will be joined on the panel by actors, directors, playwrights and composers from the Broadway or Broadway-bound productions of Chinglish, Lysistrata Jones and Venus in Fur.

Award-winning critic Randy Gener and Drama Desk’s vice president, Leslie Hoban Blake, will moderate the panel.

The event is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased on site at the Pope Auditorium box office or at (212) 636-6340. Discounts are available for Drama Desk members, as well as students and members of the Fordham community.

TIME: 6:30 to 8 p.m.
