In a book of essays he edited with several other scholars, titled Mocking Bird Technologies: The Poetics of Parroting, Mimicry, and Other Starling Tropes (Fordham University Press, 2018), Fordham Professor of English Christopher GoGwilt, Ph.D., examined the role that starlings, parrots, and other mockingbirds play in literature, both as motifs and as metaphors.
