Dr. Evan Bedil
Marathon Asset Management

Dr. Evan Bedil is a managing director at Marathon Asset Management who rejoined the firm in 2017 to lead the Healthcare Structured Credit and Royalty Monetization Investment program. Evan previously worked at Marathon as a vice president and the senior healthcare investment analyst investing in drug royalties and loans.

Prior to rejoining Marathon, Evan was a Partner at Healthcare Capital Solutions/Crown Sterling LLC. From 2011 to 2015, Evan spearheaded PDL BioPharma’s investments in drug royalties and structured credit that invested over $750 million. Evan has applicable experience working as a business development consultant at Defined Health between his initial tenure at Marathon and PDL. Following his business school studies, Evan also spent two years at Morgan Stanley in biotechnology equity research.

Evan holds an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and earned his MBBCh (M.D. equivalent) from the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Michael Bucella
BlockTower Capital

Michael Bucella is a partner and global head of strategic partnerships for BlockTower Capital, a leading institutional cryptocurrency investment firm bringing professional trading and portfolio management to an emerging digital asset class.

Prior to BlockTower, Michael spent nearly a decade with Goldman Sachs. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2008 as part of the firm’s Asset Management Division (GSAM), where he focused on investment strategies, markets, and institutional investors globally. Most recently Michael worked in the Securities Division, where he ran the multi-asset sales and trading business in Canada and led efforts to expand this strategy globally. Previous to this role, he led the institutional global equities business, also in Canada.

Michael earned a B.S. in finance, economics, and accounting from Fordham University. He is a member of Fordham University’s President’s Council and is involved in multiple charitable organizations. His recent philanthropic endeavors also include several independent trips to aid the relief effort in Puerto Rico.

Barbara Connolly Keady
Ceres Partners

Barbard Connolly Keady is currently the director of new business development at Ceres Partners. Most recently, Barbara was a research analyst at Southport Management, a convertible bond hedge fund based in Connecticut. Prior to that, she worked as an associate in the Private Wealth Management group at Morgan Stanley in New York, selling the firm’s asset management services to high net worth individuals, endowments, and foundations.

Barbara started her career at Bankers Trust Company in their fixed income sales department, covering pensions, corporations, and money funds in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Barbara received a B.S. from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and an MBA in finance from Columbia University. She serves as a director on the Sprott Focus Trust Fund (FUND) Board.
