NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A record number of Atlantic 10 Conference student-athletes were selected for the Commissioner’s Honor Roll. There were 1,667 honored for their excellence in the classroom in the 2015 fall semester, including 153 from Fordham, most among the conference’s schools.

The 1,667 is the highest number of student-athletes that have qualified for the award since 2007 when the lists were regularly compiled. The total surpassing the 1,559 set during the 2015 spring semester. In addition, the 14 member institutions had an average 119 student-athletes qualify for the Commissioner’s Honor Roll, shattering last semester’s record average of 111.3 honorees per institution. Both marks are the best single semester numbers of Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade’s tenure

To be listed on the bi-annual Commissioner’s Honor Roll, a student-athlete in an Atlantic 10-sponsored sport must have a 3.5 GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale) during the specified semester. Freshmen are eligible to receive the award.

Fordham had the most honorees with 153, followed by Massachusetts with 150 and Saint Louis with 144.
