SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS KICK OFF LECTURE SERIES

NEW YORK—The International Political Economy and Development Program at Fordham University (IPED) is hosting a lecture, “The Power of One: Social Entrepreneurs and Conservation,”on Monday, Jan. 24, at 6 p.m. in the 12th-floor lounge of the Leon Lowenstein building on the Lincoln Center campus.The presentation will examine many of the economic, social and legal issues associated with conserving the world’s biodiversity.

Speakers will include Isabella Rossellini, actress and director of the Wildlife Conservation Network; Ross McMillan, senior associate at Tides Canada Foundation; Andrew Kuper, director of the Global Academy for Social Entrepreneurship; Sean South, of the Equator Initiative; and Yasmina Zaidman of Acumen Fund. The event is free and open to the public.

The lecture is the first in a five-part series being sponsored by IPED that will discuss in a global context genetically modified food, water use, land rights and trade organizations. Established in 1979, IPED was founded in the Jesuit tradition of pursuing open intellectual discourse for the betterment of the world.
