The Fordham men’s basketball team won its third straight game on Wednesday, Feb. 28, by beating St. Bonaventure University 91-60 in the Reilly Center. With the win, the Rams are now 16-11 overall and 9-6 in the Atlantic 10.

The nine conference wins for Fordham, which clinched its first winning record since 1991-92 with a victory at the University of Rhode Island on Saturday, Feb. 24, ties last year’s club for the most Atlantic 10 wins in a season since the Rams joined the conference in 1995. In addition, the Rams’ 2007 Atlantic 10 road record is now 5-3, marking the first winning road record since Fordham began playing in the conference.

“This was one of the best games we played all year,” Fordham head coach Dereck Whittenburg said. “The first time we played St. Bonaventure this year they came right at us and I told my players that they would have to match their intensity from the tip. We did that by playing strong defense and making some shots.”

Fordham will close out the regular season by hosting the Temple University Owls in the Rose Hill Gym onSaturday, March 3 at 1 p.m. The Rams will honor their two Fordham College at Rose Hill seniors, Dominic Osei and Dan Blaine, in a pre-game ceremony.
