professor and associate dean for academic affairs, has co-authored two books: The Achievement Test Desk Reference: A Guide to Learning Disability Identification, Second Edition (Wiley, 2007) andEssentials of Cross-Battery Assessment, Second Edition (Wiley, 2006). He also published a book chapter titled “Best Practices in the Use of the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales, Fifth Edition (SB5) with Preschoolers” in the fourth edition of Psychoeducational Assessment of Preschool Children(Erlbaum, 2006).

Amy Aronson, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of communication and media studies, has been selected to participate in the summer seminar “Writing Past Lives: Biography as History” at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University.

Fran C. Blumberg, Ph.D., GSE,
associate professor of educational psychology, will be a visiting scholar at Beijing Normal University in June as part of a grant from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation.

Keith Chapin, Ph.D., A&S,
assistant professor of music, has been appointed associate editor of the journal Nineteenth-Century Music.

John Davenport, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of philosophy and associate chair for undergraduate studies at Fordham College at Lincoln Center, has published Will as Commitment and Resolve: An Existential Account of Creativity, Love, Virtue, and Happiness (Fordham University Press, 2007).

D. Frank Hsu, Ph.D., A&S,
Clavius Professor of Science and professor of computer and information science and associate chair for graduate studies, gave an invited address “Data Fusion Method in Virtual Screening” at the International Symposium on Systems Biology and Bioinformatics held in Taipei, Taiwan, in March.

Amir H. Idris, Ph.D.,
assistant professor of African studies, A&S, presented the paper “The Root Causes and the Role of the USA” conference on “Understanding the Genocide in Darfur’s Sudan: Analysis and Intervention” in April.

Joseph Koterski, S.J., Ph.D.,
associate professor and chair of the Department of Philosophy, was the guest speaker at the Diocese of Metuchen’s St. Thomas More Society annual dinner. Father Koterski’s address was on “St. Thomas More’s Utopia: A Lesson in the Non-negotiable Principles of Christian Political Thought.”

Chris Morett, Ph.D.,
assistant professor of sociology, A&S, and Emily Rosenbaum, Ph.D., professor of sociology, presented their paper, “Parents’ Joint Work Schedules, Emotional Well-being, Relationship Quality, and Infants’ Outcomes: Evidence from the ECLSB,” at the annual meetings of the Population Association of America in April.

Lauren H. Mounty, Ph.D., GBA,
associate dean for academic programs, delivered a presentation at the MBA Leadership Conference in January on “Measuring and Increasing the Satisfaction of Part-time MBA Students.” Her address was presented jointly with Gloria Batllori, executive director of the MBA Programs Unit at ESADE Business School in Barcelona and Gerry Keim, associate dean at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

Robert J. Parmach, Ph.D., FCRH,
assistant dean of Fordham College at Rose Hill and instructor of philosophy, has been elected to represent Fordham University as a member of the board of directors of Mt. Manresa Retreat House, an apostolate run by the New York Province of the Society of Jesus.

Emily Rosenbaum, Ph.D.,
professor of sociology, A&S, published “Does Suburban Residence Mean Better Neighborhood Conditions for All Households?” in Social Science Research.

Terrence W. Tilley, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of theology and chair of the department, is currently the president-elect of the Catholic Theological Society of America. In addition, he published Religious Diversity and the American Experience: A Theological Approach (Continuum, 2007).
