TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — Fordham University’s new president, Joseph M. McShane, S.J., will greet fresh-men as they take up residence at Marymount to start the fall 2003 semester on Sunday, August 31 at Mary-mount College of Fordham University, 100 Marymount Ave., Tarrytown, N.Y. Father McShane, who will travel among all three of Fordham’s campuses throughout the day to welcome the University’s newest students, will be on the Marymount campus from 8 to 9 a.m. Move in will continue until noon.

The undergraduate women’s college expects approximately 300 freshmen to enroll this fall, an in-crease of approximately 7 percent increase over last year. Approximately 100 transfer students are also ex-pected to enroll.

On July 1, 2002, Marymount College officially consolidated with Fordham University to create Marymount College of Fordham University — a new model of a women’s Catholic college that enjoys the academic and administrative resources of a major university while retaining the character of a small liberal arts college.
