Artist-In-Residence To Show Work at Ramapo College

NEW JERSEY – “Hovering Journey,” a series of symbolic paintings by Vivienne Thaul Wechter, Ph.D., Fordham University artist in residence, will be on display March 3 to 27 at the Kresge Gallery, Berrie Center for the Performing and Visual Arts, Ramapo College of New Jersey. A reception, open to the public, will take place from 5 to 7 p.m., March 3, with a poetry reading by Wechter at 6:30 p.m. and presentation of the movie Thunderbolt, a documentary of her life and work, at 7 p.m. Wechter is an abstract painter, sculptor and poet as well as a Fordham professor of interdisciplinary arts and psychology of creativity. Art critics have described her work as “visionary” and “unashamedly odd.” She has been widely exhibited in the United States and abroad.
