Fordham Law Symposium on the Danger of Regulatory Capture

A distinguished panel of experts teases apart the dangers of regulatory capture—when agencies become dominated by the industries they are charged with regulating—at Fordham Law School’s symposium on Monday, Feb. 7. The symposium will consider where the problem of regulatory capture exists, how severe it is and possible solutions.

Panelists include U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI); Richard Scott Carnell, professor at Fordham Law School; Lawrence G. Baxter, professor at Duke Law School; Robert F. Weber, professor at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law; and Daniel Kaufmann, Ph.D., of the Brookings Institution. Steven M. Davidoff, professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law and New York Times Deal columnist, and James Kwak, co-author of 13 Bankers: The Wall Street Takeover and the Next Financial Meltdown, and co-founder of the Baseline Scenario, will also join the discussion.
