Arrest Indicates Failure Of Revolving Door System Of Incarceration, Says Professor

“Paris Drake is a perfect example of how our revolving door system of incarceration has miserably failed,” says Fordham Law Professor Abraham Abromovsky. “Addicted throwaways always come back to haunt us and remind us that political quick-fixes are in fact not fixes at all.” Paris Drake, recently charged for the Nov. 16 brick attack on a woman in Midtown Manhattan, was arrested on a drug charge eight days after the assault. After a brief stint in jail, he was released, a pattern that appears to have repeated for him since 1982. Abromovsky, a criminal law expert, believes this cyclical pattern of drug addiction and violence will continue until it is properly addressed through comprehensive treatment programs. Abraham Abromovsky is available for interview.
