professor of management systems, gave the lecture “Deming and Democracy” in March at the 17th Annual International Deming Research Seminar in New York City.

associate professor of Spanish, published an edition of the first Spanish-American novel, Carlos de Sigüenza y Góngora Infortunios de Alonso Ramírez (1690) (Juan de la Cuesta, 2011).

John P. McCarthy, Ph.D., A&S,
professor emeritus of history, was one of the academic commentators on the recent BBC television series “The Story of Ireland.”

Mark Naison, Ph.D., A&S,

Christine Janssen-Selvadurai, Ph.D., BUS,
lecturer of management systems, received the Adviser of the Year Award from the Office of Student Leadership and Community Development and United Student Government.

Frederick J. Wertz, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of psychology, lectured on phenomenology and qualitative research last August at the American Psychological Association annual convention in San Diego and last October at the Mexican Congress of Psychology in Mexico City. He has published “The Method of Eidetic Analysis for Psychology” in The Redirection of Psychology: Essays in Honor of Amedeo P. Giorgi (CIRP, 2010) and is president-elect of the Interdisciplinary Coalition of North American Phenomenologists.

Dongli Zhang, Ph.D., BUS,
assistant professor of management systems, gave a presentation titled “Exploring the Changing Culture: The Effectiveness of Quality Practices in China” in March at the 17th annual International Deming Research Seminar in New York City.
