Rachel A. Annunziato, PhD, A&S,
associate professor of psychology, co-edited a special issue of the New York State Psychologist on behavioral medicine and pediatric psychology with David S. Glenwick, PhD, professor of psychology.  They also published an article, “Current Topics in Behavioral Medicine and Pediatric Psychology: An Introduction to the Issue,” in that issue.

Joshua Brown, PhD, A&S,
associate professor of psychology, has been named a member of the steering committee of the University-Based Child and Family Policy Consortium of the Society for Research in Child Development.

Celia B. Fisher, PhD, A&S,
Marie Ward Doty Professor of Psychology, director of the Fordham Center for Ethics Education, and professor of psychology, has received a 4-year grant on “Ethics in HIV Prevention Research Involving LGBT Youth” from the National Institute on Minority Health Disparities. She also published “Reducing Health Disparities and Enhancing the Responsible Conduct of Research Involving LGBT Youth” in the Hastings Center Report.

Shushanik Hakobyan, PhD, A&S
assistant professor of economics, published “The US Generalised System of Preferences in Principle and Practice” (joint with Emily Blanchard, Dartmouth Tuck) as the lead article in The World Economy 38(3).

Anne G. Hoffman, PhD, A&S,
professor of English, displayed three of her oil paintings in the faculty art show of the Department of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College at an exhibition that will be up through June 12, 2015.

Beth Knobel, PhD, A&S,
assistant professor of communication and media studies, has been appointed vice chair of the Board of Trustees of the Columbia Daily Spectator for three years beginning Feb. 1, 2015.

Dean McKay, PhD, A&S,
professor of psychology, co-edited Working With Emotion in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Techniques for Clinical Practice (Guilford) and wrote three chapters for that volume: “Introduction,” “Exposure in Experiential Context: Imagined and In Vivo Approaches,” and “Experiential Methods, Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, and Next Steps in Emotional Engagement in Treatment.”

Aristotle Papanikolaou, PhD, A&S,
Archbishop Demetrios Chair of Theology and Culture, professor of theology, and co-founding director of the Orthodox Christian Studies Center, presented the K. Brooke Andersen Lecture at Brown University, “War’s Remainders: Virtue, Violence and Christian Paradigms,” on March 16.

Ana R. Pires, PhD, A&S,
assistant professor of mathematics, presented “Geometry and Topology” at a conference in honor of Martin Bendersky’s seventieth birthday and in commemoration of Sam Gitler at Princeton University from March 18-21. She also gave the Math Colloquium entitled “Paper folding geometry: How origami beat Euclid” at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, on April 2.

Mary G. Powers, PhD, A&S,
Professor Emerita of Sociology, co-published the article “Latino Immigration” in the Oxford Bibliographies in Latino Studies with Greta A. Gilbertson, PhD, associate professor of sociology.

Tiffany Yip, PhD, A&S,
associate professor of psychology, published the following four articles in Child Development: “The Influence of Identity Development Status,” “Methodological Issues in Ethnic and Racial Identity Research,” “Ethnic and Racial Identity During Adolescence and Into Young Adulthood,” and “Ethnic and Racial Identity Adolescence: Implications for Psychological, Academic and Health Outcomes.”
