Leslie Burton, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of psychology, was certified in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Judith Brady, O.P., Ph.D., FCLS,
adjunct assistant professor of theology, has been appointed Aquinas Chair in Roman Catholic Studies at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, New York.

Monique J. Fortuné, Ed.M., A&S,
adjunct instructor of communication and media studies, was part of a panel discussion on “Black Pioneers of Early Radio,” sponsored by the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) New York Local on Feb. 22.

Al Greco, Ed.D., BUS,
professor of communication and media management and professor of marketing, delivered a lecture on “Trends in Textbook Publishing: A Review of Key Market Drivers Affecting the Education Text Market” at Catholic University of America, and another on “The Book and Media Industries: 2000-2009” at The National Geographic Society in January.

James R. Lothian, Ph.D., BUS,
distinguished professor of finance and director of the Frank J. Petrilli Center for Research in International Finance, served as visiting scholar at Maastricht University in The Netherlands where he presented the paper, “Uncovered Interest Rate Parity Over the Past Two Centuries.” His article “Milton Friedman: A Man Who Really Did Change the World” was also published in the Brandsma Review.

Dean McKay, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of psychology, served as guest editor of a special issue of Anxiety, Stress, and Coping, and he published “Implicit Attention Bias for Disgust” in the same issue. In addition, he was awarded a $10,000 grant by the Countess Moira Foundation to research the “Heritability of Obsessive-Compulsive Symptoms.”

Margot Nadien, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of psychology, has published “Factors That Influence Abusive Interventions Between Aging Women and Their Caregivers” in Violence and Exploitation Against Women and Girls(Blackwell Publishing, 2007).

Philip M. Napoli, Ph.D., BUS,
associate professor of communication and media management and director of the Donald McGannon Communication Research Center, delivered a presentation on data access and availability in media policy research at a congressional briefing in Washington, D.C., in January.

Joan E. Roberts, Ph.D.,
professor of chemistry and chair of the Department of Natural Sciences, delivered the keynote address at a session of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America in January.

Lance Strate, Ph.D., A&S,
Associate chair for graduate studies and associate professor of communication and media studies, has published “The Judaic Roots of Neil Postman’s Cultural Commentary” in the Journal of Media and Religion.

Jay Wade, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of psychology, has published “The Case of the Angry Black Man” in In the Room With Men: A Casebook of Therapeutic Change (American Psychological Association, 2006).

Frederick Wertz, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of psychology, has received the Distinguished Service Award from the Society of Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology of the American Psychological Association.
