Paul R. Brenner (FCRH ’64, LAW ’67) capped years of generosity to the Fordham School of Law with an estate gift totaling $5.5 million.

Brenner’s gift, which will support scholarships, brings the school’s fundraising campaign to more than $98 million of its $100 million goal.

“Scholarships are more important today than ever because they make it possible for the most deserving students to receive a Fordham Law education,” said Dean William Michael Treanor.

“Paul Brenner was an extraordinarily dedicated member of the Fordham Law community, and his contributions to the school will open the door to Fordham Law for generations of students.”

Brenner served several terms on the Fordham Law Alumni Association Board of Advisors and was involved in the creation of two of the school’s signature programs.

One, the Fordham-Stein Prize, was founded in 1975 and has become an honor roll of distinguished Americans whose careers demonstrate the positive contributions of the legal profession to American society.

The other, the Fordham Corporate Law Institute, has evolved into the Fordham Competition Law Institute. For 35 years, it has organized the Annual Conference on International Antitrust Law and Policy, a leading event in the field.

In addition, Brenner was instrumental in setting up the school’s National Scholars Program, which awards merit scholarships to deserving national candidates. His estate gift will augment the Paul R. Brenner Endowed Scholarship.
