Join fellow students, social workers, and community members for a viewing of clips from the film 13th, a documentary about the history of race and the criminal justice system in the United States. 13th explores how the racism of mass incarceration has become a modern day form of slavery. Following the film, a panel of experts will discuss their own experiences with the criminal justice system, current efforts for reforming the system, and how social workers and the general public can join this fight for justice. Open discussion with the audience will follow.
